The artist Taka Hayashi has collaborated with Pendleton and Vans to create a special collection of footwear, alongside a custom Pendleton blanket, for the Holiday 15 season. The blanket, based on colors and imagery from one of Hayashi’s paintings, serves as the centerpiece of the collection, and is featured on the fabric panels of each footwear style, each of which is hand-cut and stitched to the uppers, making no two pairs exactly alike. The collection features two iconic Vans silhouettes in perhaps their most luxurious re-interpretations ever; the TH Slip-On LX and the TH Sk8 Huarache LX.
With perfect timing, as the leaves in New York City are beginning to fall, the Breton Boot SE from Vans’ OTW collection has just arrived. Featuring the classic rounded-toe, military style silhouette, with the most premium use of material, the Breton Boot combines a leather and coated canvas fabrication, is lined with heavy-duty, Winter-weather-ready sockliners, and finished with durable Vibram Christy outsoles. Now available in bomber black and duck hunt brown.
The Surplus collection from Vans Classics is new this week, and features two pairs of Sk8-Hi Reissue’s and two Old Skools. Constructed from premium suede and canvas with classic military surplus styling, the Surplus’ uppers are complimented with monotone laces and foxing, metal eyelets, and contrasting white side-stripes. Both styles are available in port royale and frost gray.
