Only the side panel of these is neoprene material. The toe and and heel panels are both canvas, which means that they fit and feel like any Classic Vans Era. The sole and the upper is constructed as any other Classic Era is, so I wouldn’t recommend them as being waterproof. I hope that helps answer both of your questions.
